Recently started using Uber after to North Carolina. Now it's not a question of "should i call a cab?"; it's "Let's get an Uber"

Way cheaper than traditional car service..at least for now

Uber recently had a promo in NJ where you could get your first Uber ride for free up to $30. I took advantage on a ride from Jersey City to Monroe Twp, NJ. Its a ride that would have cost $150 via car service...and regular taxis just don't go to Monroe from Jersey City. See attached pic...$35! Even the $65 before discount is a steal. If prices stay this low I don't know if I'll ever drive to the NYC/Boken/JC again.

Head and Shoulders above Cabs and Car Service

I'm am 100% a Uber convert. I've been using the service in the NY/Northern NJ area for over a year and it's just great. It's much cheaper than car service (i.e. Skyline, Blueline, Dav-el, Tel Aviv, etc.) and sometimes NYC taxis (from NYC back to Hoboken). I slum it with Uber X pretty often and it's a bit of a roll of the dice in the NY/NJ area, but I've only had one truly bad experience where the driver had no idea where she was going…and her car was this horrible Subaru that looked like an armadillo. Lastly, I found that Uber/Uber X is “the” mode of transportation of choice in the Dallas area. There aren't any cabs to hail and it's a city that you really need to drive to get from Point A to Point B. In my last 2 trips to the city, I often traveled between uptown and downtown and the fare was pretty much always $5...including tip! Amazing. $5. What else can you get for $5 these days? A Subway footlong? Uber is making the car service/taxi industry more transparent, efficient, convenient, and secure. Welcome to the 21st century TL&C!

Beats a Cab Any Day of the Week

Instead of using a sketchy cab in Phily, we used Uber to get us to our destination and i have to say it was quite an experience. The driver was super nice and told us some crazy stories about his latest rides. The ride was smooth, quiet, and full of laughter which is such a pleasant experience to have. I highly recommend it the next time you are in the city.

Use them to get around whenever I'm in the city. Yet to have a bad experience. I would recommend.
