I was incorrectly insistent about installing as the Windows Administrator. Brian was patient and polite. He ended up escalating to James, who had me do the install with my "Admin" account. Apparently I misinterpreted a message I got from the installer when I thought I had kicked the install off with elevated permissions in my test.
