Yeah, my wireless router failed so I was down to only a single ethernet port for my work from home office. Having both a phone and a PC, I tried connecting the phone to the modem directly and then connecting the PC through the phone, but that did not work. Kevin thought that was the situation but it was not possible to determine 100% because there's no configuration options on the cable modem. His thinking was correct and everything was resolved as soon as the wifi router was replaced and I could give each system a dedicated LAN connection.
