On my initial consult I was told to bring the ink cartridge back to Staples as it was likely defective. Staples told me that was unlikely the problem and to do a print head clean, which the printer wouldn't do because it wouldn't respond at all. So i contacted the printer customer service who told me it was a computer infection and i would need to pay him $100 to fix the computer, that it wasn't the printer or the ink cartridge. It would have been nice to skip the Staples and HP customer service steps and do a little more investigating. Today the issue was fixed promptly.

The issue was at the service provider level and they came out and fixed it on Friday. I am now up and running.
