About Us

In 1988, CalTech started as a software development company in the garage of Bob Calabrese. When several of Calabrese’s employees left he sought out help to strengthen the CalTech brand. Enter Will Welch and Brent McCasland. Will and Brent, business graduates of Angelo State University, opened Outback Computer Service in 1995 with an investment of $600 and two credit cards! They brought along Outback Computer’s loyal customer base, strong financials, and the competitive advantage to give CalTech the boost it needed. The two companies merged in 1998, maintaining the CalTech Brand. In late 1998, Mr. Welch and Mr. McCasland assumed full ownership of the company. Since then, CalTech has experienced significant growth and continues to attract both great clients and talent to our family. CalTech has been named as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas for eight years running by the Texas Association of Business, the Society for Human Resource Management, and Texas Monthly.

My only reasoning for the less than 10's on this...

My only reasoning for the less than 10's on this has to do with the alarm with which I was notified about the issue and the follow-up we received. We had an issue on our network in the fall that did actually end up being nefarious actors, so I'm senses are heightened about this stuff. I was notified about it with some alarm, which I feel is warranted. I was asked to try and confirm an appliance with CSI, and that took me just a bit. I tried to call back and get information to Integris so you could contact CSI and work through it, but that didn't happen that evening because I guess people had gone home. It was left until the next day, and if that's the way it has to be, that's fine. But I wondered all that evening about whether we had someone on our network. We were invited to be on the initial call with Integris and CSI, and I was lost as to what was being discussed. The call ended without the bank (Avery Bohannon and myself) knowing the next steps or where we stood. I finally asked Bill Yohman to update me, and although I know he gave me the only answer he could, it just seemed odd. I can only assume that since it's not been elevated to a higher level, we're in good shape. This may or may not be picky, but I just wanted to relay this. If anyone wants to discuss it, feel free to contact me at 830.990.9300. Thank you, Matt Seidenberger
