What is a Business Coach?
We are all aware that there are various professionals and individuals who work with businesses such as consultants, mentors and advisors. A coach is both similar and very different to all of the above.
A consultant is a niche expert and will know a vast amount about a specific area of the business.
A mentor is usually an individual who has been or is in the same industry as you and can guide you through the potential pitfalls.
An advisor is pretty much hands-off. They come into the business to assess, advise and counsel and leave when their job is done.
A coach is neither a specialist nor expert in your industry. The primary interest of a coach is to ensure the business owner has a great business with huge profits. Or as we like to call it, 'a commercial, profitable enterprise'.
The major aspect which sets a coach apart from a mentor, advisor or consultant is accountability.
The role of a business coach is to coach business owners to improve their business through guidance, support and encouragement. They help the owners of small and medium sized businesses with their sales, marketing, management, team building and so much more. Just like a sporting coach, your business coach will make you focus entirely on the game.
It’s very difficult to be truly objective about yourself and your business. A Business Coach can be objective for you and can ‘see the forest through the trees’. Your ActionCOACH will become your marketing manager, your sales director, your training co-ordinator; your confidant, your mentor. Your ActionCOACH will help you make your dreams come true.
