About Louis Furlan, M.D
Louis Furlan, M.D. is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist in New Jersey at the Eye Care & Surgery Center. Dr. Furlan earned his Medical Degree at Jefferson Medical College and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at New York University Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Furlan completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been listed in “Top Doctors, Best Physicians as chosen by their peers”, by New York Times Magazine, as well as “Mom’s choice” of top doctors for their children by New Jersey Family Magazine.
Dr. Furlan serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University where he is the Consultant to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit supporting the eye care needs of premature infants as well as providing clinical instruction for the pediatric division of the ophthalmology residency-training program at NYU. Dr. Furlan has extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of all types of children’s eye problems including Strabismus or “Crossed Eyes” and Amblyopia or “Lazy Eye” as well as Adult Strabismus.
