About Us
Shanghai in Mama's day was a exciting eclectic mix of people food and culture. China had never seen such an influx of foreigners... and what a group they were. White Russian nobility escaping the Bolshevik revolution Jewish scholars fleeing pograms in Europe and traders of questionable repute from all over the world came to the city called "Paris of the East" to make their fortune. Gangsters openly ruled and opium was available by room service at all the fine hotels. We've taken some liberties with the menu and decor and hope that you appreciate the lure of Shanghai as well. However should you choose to be one of "those questioning " types we refer you to what Mama still says: "Shut up and eat your noodles!"
