About Our Physical Therapy Care
At all three of Somerset Medical Center's Sports PT locations, expect to receive the highest quality care no matter what injury, condition, or ailment you are experiencing.
Who We Treat
We provide treatment for people of all ages with various orthopedic injuries and conditions such as arthritis, broken bones, sprains and strains of all joints, back pain, and pre- and post-operative patients. We also have extensive experience treating high school, college, professional, and Olympic athletes.
Your Experience
We believe the treatment process begins and ends with you. Playing an active role in your rehabilitation is a key element for successful results. With the help of our staff, you will gain the knowledge and tools to achieve all your physical therapy goals.
During your initial appointment, you will be thoroughly evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist. Based on your unique needs, a treatment plan and personalized home exercise program will be customized for you.
Subsequent visits will consist of supervised exercises, hands-on treatment from your therapist, and the opportunity to discuss your progress. At the end of your rehabilitation program, you will be given an updated home maintenance program. Your therapist will review it with you until you are confident to perform it independently, so you can stay pain-free long after you leave us!
Type of Treatment Techniques/Modalities we utilize
Your therapy program will consist of several different rehab "modalities," such as: soft tissue mobilization; manual stretching; PNF; Mckenzie Method; Maitland Techniques, Graston Method; as well as moist heat, cryotherapy (ice), e-stim, ultrasound, and independent exercises. Your therapist, along with recommendations from your physician, will decide which techniques will be most beneficial for improving your function.
