About Workforce Intelligence Lab
Workforce Intelligence Lab (WIL) is an independent research institution that studies a central question: how do workforce conditions affect whether infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and other mission-critical investments are delivered as planned?
WIL brings together public-source data, research methods and practitioner expertise to examine the relationship between workforce conditions and project delivery. Its research covers three connected areas: workforce conditions and investment delivery; occupations, skills and credentials; and education and workforce pathways. These areas apply across construction, infrastructure, energy and power, advanced manufacturing, data centers and transportation electrification.
WIL's work is meant to inform decisions by educational institutions, policymakers, workforce organizations, industry and investors. It also aims to help workers and communities by improving understanding of how training, credentials and employment pathways can keep pace with changing industries and technologies.
WIL publishes to clear standards: identified data sources, documented methods and assumptions, open treatment of uncertainty, and a clear line between observed findings and interpretation. Its methods work is directed by David Mickey-Pabello, Ph.D., of Harvard University. WIL is led by Christopher Nelson, President, and is based in Orlando, Florida.
