For more than 35 years, African American Expressions (AAE) has had one purpose at its heart: to create products that celebrate the beauty, faith, history, strength, and everyday experiences of the African American community. Founded by entrepreneur Gregory Perkins, African American Expressions began with a vision to fill a noticeable void in the marketplace. At the time, it was difficult to find greeting cards, calendars, gifts, and inspirational products that authentically reflected African American families, traditions, spirituality, accomplishments, and culture. Gregory believed our community deserved to see itself represented—not occasionally, but every day. That belief became African American Expressions. What started as an entrepreneurial dream has grown into one of the most recognized African American gift and stationery brands in the country, offering hundreds of culturally relevant products and serving customers, retailers, churches, schools, organizations, and fundraising groups nationwide.
